🌊 Introducing Weathered by Water 🌊
Some collections begin with an idea.
This one began with a crack.
As I worked on a small coastal piece, the surface developed a weathered, crackled texture. At first, I questioned it. Then I realized it was telling the story better than a smooth surface ever could.
The coast is not polished.
It is shaped.
Weathered driftwood, sea-worn stone, shifting shorelines, moss-covered forests nourished by mist and rain—nothing on the West Coast remains untouched by water. Over time, water leaves its mark on everything it encounters. Not as damage, but as evidence of a life lived, a journey taken, and a story carried forward.
That realization inspired a new collection: Weathered by Water.
A series of sculptural coastal landscapes exploring the places where water leaves its imprint. Through texture, paint, and layered surfaces, each piece becomes a tactile memory of the coast—shaped by tide, rain, wind, and time.
This first piece, Seafoam Memory, captures the quiet moment when a wave reaches the shore and gently retreats, leaving behind traces of light, texture, and movement. The crackled surface echoes the patterns found in nature itself, transforming a simple seascape into something that feels discovered rather than painted.
Unlike traditional wall art, these sculptural coastal pieces are designed to live wherever a moment of beauty is needed. Displayed on a wall, nestled among books, resting on a mantel, or showcased on a stand, each artwork blurs the line between painting and object, inviting a more personal connection with the landscape it represents.
Over the coming weeks, this collection will grow to include a coastal forest shaped by mist and rain, and a driftwood-inspired piece born from years of travel through sea and storm.
