Peterborough
Peterborough is finally signed and displaying on my studio, after participating in the 2024 Spring Show where its brother Against the Rocks found a new home.
I have a sense of accomplishment with this piece.
I was working at it since February 12, and I found parts of very challenging because I wanted the feeling of moving water to not breakdown the peacefulness of the moment. The depths on the rocks and the quietness and serenity of the scenery.
It may be one of the pieces I like the most and I hope someone will connect with it deeply.
Peterborough County, Ontario is where a client and friend of mine has his breathtakingly beautiful property and a photo he took of a spot ignited this painting. Although isn’t really remotely similar to the photo, it has a very unique approach as I created an imaginary place where Peterborough County meets a bridge in Port Renfrew and now it’s a tangible place and not just in my mind.
This is a 36 inches high and 18 inches wide oil on gallery wrapped canvas with a 1.5 inches depth.
The edges of the canvas as you see carry on the scene.
