Tranquility
I painted this piece recently and the idea behind it came to me from the clash between a dream and an imaginary scenery that I saw through my window. When in the early wee hours of the morning the fog covers everything and the sun is just starting to come out, sometimes between the thick density of the forest you can almost imagine stories of souls dancing around between hanging branches and vines. A fairytale in the making where fireflies illuminate paths in the early hours or in the last little bit of light. And thats where this enchanted forest came to be. The paper birch was one of the things I saw here in British Columbia and I fell in love with. Doing an Urban Art Tour, the garden where we had our show had two and I touched them and I couldn’t believe they weren’t just magical.
This larger piece will absolutely be a window to open the imagination of all its viewers. Dreaming with our eyes open if you wish. Visiting with those who have departure before us in the tranquil light.
